LuvLaneyLuv Weekly Vlog 09
Not too much talking this week. I showed my plants some love because they’re struggling a bit, just like their momma 🙂
MRI = Hip replacement?
I needed an MRI. Why you ask? Well I’ve had a persistent injury for the last 9 months that doesn’t want to go away. At this point I can barely and have given up working out all together. The pain is chronic and serious but it has taken a very long time for medical professionals to take my pain seriously. Finally was able to get an appointment with a specialist to have a look. He could barely touch me because the area was inflamed. That’s why I was scheduled in for an immediate MRI… in the middle of the night lol. (Also the hot goss is MRI machines are broken at my hospital. Can we say Budget cuts!)
The bigger question is: will or will I not need a hip replacement? Lord help me if I do because that would suck royally. I have pushed my body to the limit for decades, which is finally catching up to me. Sad face.
Long walk home
Once the MRI was done, I wanted to get the dye out of my system. I walked the city in the middle of the night. Toronto is a relatively safe city for a woman to walk alone at night. I have done it since I was a teen and honestly, the TTC is more dangerous than my two legs and a pencil in my hand. It was a beautiful cold night. Everything was lit but there was something apocalyptic about it. Few cars and no humans. I was able to get some cute city shots while standing in the middle of the road. Living on the edge I am!
Laney Luvs to Talk Podcast
I don’t talk about my podcast enough, but I have one where I talk in more detail about career jargon and what it’s like to be a freelancer in this crazy market. It’s a focused talk about real world challenges in this tech space.
Then it was time for Brown Folks Book Circle featuring the author Jayne Allen. I encourage everyone to join a bookclub. It fills my soul to chat with other women who love books and expanding their world through reading.
Paint and Coffee
I painted a meal I enjoyed and that stayed with me long after I devoured it. I also had my had a coffee in a cafe for the 1st time since lockdown ended. My mind was racing but I’m happy I got around the city again.
A nice slow week.
