Birthdaze and Being a Big Age

Morning Musing on Countdowns & No Going Back

Luvlies, Good morning. Yesterday was my thirty-nineteenth birthday and it started off with a 5-alarm fire…no, for real. I was awoken out of my birthdaze at 6:45am to a screeching fire alarm that didn’t stop until 7:30. I slumbered out of my apartment to evacuate the building, because some moron set a fire in the garbage shute. 6/7 is always a day for trouble. I secretly hoped there would be a hot New York Firefighter moment, but this is Toronto, and we hire on merit. Small, portly and balding is our brand of FF. Not a calendar boy in sight. And tell me why they were all sauntering? Having a nice little stroll along the waterfront boyz? Well don’t mind us standing outside in flimsy clothes at 7am. Get back to work!

Sorry, I don’t know where that came from. My god… I’m old now.

All of a sudden, I don’t like seeing young people hanging out idly. There’s no going back. In fact the countdown begins. I was watching an interview with Yvette Nicole Brown, where she spoke about being at an age where you start ‘counting down’ how many summers you have left, and that stuck with me. I think we all have 26 springs left before this earth is cooked, but this perspective of counting down is a healthy one.

In this last year of this decade, nobody can tell me nothing. There is no time left for fcukery, so I will be doing the things that I want to do. Maybe I’ll get companion… hell, why not 2?!? On Friday, my lymphatic drainage masseuse told me I should take Mounjaro, and I just might. I don’t care she implied that I’m big, I’m listening to what she’s really saying: it’s time to get snatched! I want to be 90’s fine again. Maybe it’s a shallow goal, but I have failed at all the serious ones, so why not start with something easy. I will spend most of the year preparing my Quinceanera for next June, cuz I plan on having a real big party to celebrate me and my time here on earf.

The rest of my birthday consisted of napping and getting the best pedicure I’ve had in years. I ate typical children’s birthday party food consisting of a box of cinnamon buns, 2 bars of chocolate and Pringles, while letting the crumbs fall on my new rack. I painted with oils for Day 7 of the art marathon (see below), doodled, and kiki’d with my cousin for 3 hours.

Happy fcukin’ birthday to me.

…and that’s time. Still here? Leave your thoughts down below.

See you tomorrow Luvlies!
