February Vibes ’25
February isn’t subtle. It knows exactly who it is. A month soaked in romance, but for me, it’s not about capitalism’s crush on candy and roses. This is about Black Love. Not just lovers but lineage. Not just kisses but community.
This month’s moodboard gave soft lighting, vintage film photos, and touch. Not performative PDA, but real-deal intimacy.
Black families in Sunday best, couples in kitchens, aunties with arms around nieces.
The color palette? Rose-tinted nostalgia with flecks of gold and deep mahogany. I leaned into sensuality, but the kind that wraps you in warmth. Every image felt like a memory you didn’t know you missed.
There were hearts, of course. But they beat slow. Sensuality. Flirtation. That knowing look across a crowded room. February whispered, “Love is political.” Because when Black folks get to love each other out loud and unbothered? That’s revolutionary.
