Still hiring season :(. Feeling like a chatty Cathy this week. I jumped right into a meeting with a new agency to start of the week. It was our first time connecting on the phone. It’s was a ‘Tire kicker’ call, where we find out what we’re both looking for and if we are in alignment.
Feedback gone terribly wrong
Then I shared an update on the interview process I stepped away from. While the HR person was kind, the manager was belligerent in her response. Her defences were up and she tried pushing back but honestly, I couldn’t care less. These types of personalities shouldn’t manage people. She’s a bigot who was threatened by my existence and responded to my interview by attempting to diminish my capacity. Take some of the shine off my accomplishments and experiences. Hell NAW. I didn’t even finish her email. Ain’t nobody got time for that destructive energy.
I predict she will be looking for a new job in the next year.
I recorded a booktube video, got my menses and have been in a lot of pain this week. My lady bits are not in a good place lol.
Shake it off!
WE ARE FINALLY OUT OF LOCKDOWN!! 2 years later and we’re free.
I produced a ton of content for social media and I shared some thoughts on this hiring season for tech jobs. Is it worth the stress?
No it’s not. Hiring season truly sucks this year. I was rejected from every job that was in the pipeline…
Ended the week with some fun.
Top Tip: Always talk to people, even if you have a job. It’s important to keep you network alive and active when working, in order to have an easier time when you’re looking for new opportunities. If you have an offer but the company hasn’t sent you a contract or nothing has been signed, continue to interview and talk to people. Things can go south pretty quickly and you want to protect your interests as much as possible.
