Morning Musing on Perimenopause and The Never Ending Day
Luvlies, Good morning. I have not slept from the night before last. I know… I know. Very irresponsible of me to stay up all night long, but once you get started you can’t sit down (my gawd, shut it Lionel!). I’m delirious and definitely feeling a bit wobbly, which I’ll chalk-up to the PeriMeno and not eating enough yesterday. Apparently, the science on the streets says that the hormone spikes that happen at night, are due to one not feeding oneself enough during the day. The body ends up in survival mode and wants to hunt for food. I also attribute the sleepless night to starting a painting way too late in the evening, so my focus was ON at midnight.
Strangely enough, I managed to deep clean the apartment, listen to an audiobook, wash all my laundry & bed linens ’til the bottom of the basket was empty, put away dishes, cleaned some more, water my plants, wash my paint brushes, organize paperwork, sharpen pencils, lost an amazon package, found an amazon package, take the kids to the pool 3x, and now I’m having coffee (which has no effect on me as I have ADHD).
The trick is to treat my body with kindness when it’s being childish, and not wanting to go down for a grown-up nap. Think Geoffrey yelling at Cersai when he was ‘Not. TIRED!!’
I’m gonna press publish and not remember what I wrote before I crash hard.
But I draw the line at mopping the floor. That is for post sleep, which needs my full attention and a long walk afterward.
