May Vibes ’25
If April was the soft sigh of spring, May arrived in full tux and top hat. This month’s moodboard was a style sermon. Tailored. Textured. Teeming with confidence.
The inspiration? Black dandyism. In honor of the Met Gala and all the fashion devotions that ripple outward from it, I centered joy that wears couture. Suits that say, “I came to be seen.” Street style that feels like jazz. Dapper Dan and Kinfolk darlings. African dandies. Velvet and gold and power in posture.
It’s about the clothes. It’s about the gathering. This board showed Black folks socializing, radiant and unbothered. Parties, picnics, smiles that spilled off the page.
The vibe? Regal nonchalance. Unapologetic shine. Because showing up looking this good in a world that tries to dim you? That’s protest and poetry.
