Morning Musing on Dancing
Luvlies, Good morning. Hope you had a gorgeous weekend. I woke-up on Saturday missing dance immensely. It has been over a month since I’ve taken ballet, and there are 3 weeks remaining until I’m cleared to do anything rigorous (fingers crossed I can do it earlier). I haven’t been able to do floor barre mat work either. Why you ask? Think about it: How does one get off the floor without using their hands or upper body? Exacty. It’s difficult to do anything without engaging the arms or chest when it comes to dance or exercise. Only attempting the occasional tendu series while leaning against the kitchen counter.
Softness and muscle loss has commenced. My leg height has diminished. And even if I’ve been using the vibration plate 3-4 times a day, it’s no match for Riho’s beginner class (or any of Riho’s classes). So I dove deep into a physio tunnel, cracking open my anatomy books and pulled together a sequence of movements to create a ‘no sweat post-op recovery workout’.
Yes, you read that correctly. I spent my Saturday night (Sunday day) creating a dance rehab inspired workout, where everything but the upper body is engaged in healing movements. It’s ridiculous I spent my entire long weekend curating (and filming) a workout instead of touching grass and venturing outdoors, but I caught the fever. I’ll post it when I can.
OMG. I really have no friends.
…and that’s time. Still here? Leave your thoughts down below.
See you tomorrow Luvlies!
